Cast Gift idea: Wood-Burned Keychains

Hey everyone! Here is a quick cast gift idea for theater folks and directors who may want to give their cast a personal, custom but affordable gift. I bought these keychains at Hobby Lobby or Michaels on sale and wanted to do a wood-burned keychain for everyone but I ran out and could not get to Gainesville that week. So the first cast gift idea is to use a wood burner and carve out the characters along with the actors' and actresses' names on such keychains. I like to give each cast member a personal gift, as well. The second gift used Dollar Tree chalkboard tags, chalk taped onto to each so they could be drawn on, and I painted with white acrylic paint a show symbol (for Addams Family I did a snapping hand) and the actor's or actress's name on each. These types of gifts could really apply to any group of people, though.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoyed!

DIY Director/Teacher Thank You Gift Sets

Hello, happy Friday! Here is a thank you gift idea that is especially great for when you need to make several thank you gifts at once. I made these for my theater directors, choreographer, and stage manager, but they could work for other occasions such as bulk teacher appreciation gifts. This gift sets are very simple to put together.

Here is what they included:

-Cups (mine were from Walmart)

-Thank You Cards (mine were from Dollar Tree)

-Dishcloths (I bought a set from Walmart)

-Tea/Drink Packets

-Lip Balm (I bought mine in a set from Marshells)

-Donuts/Treats (again, mine were from Walmart)

-Sandwich Bags

-Ribbon

-Containers/Baskets (Mine were from Dollar Tree)

Of course, these items could easily be replaced by alternative items based on what the recipient likes.

I hope you find this helpful!

DIY Candy / Willy Wonka Bouquet

Hello! Today I am sharing a tutorial for a Willy Wonka/Candy bouquet. I made this for my brother last year when he played Charlie in a Willy Wonka play. This was a quick, very last-minute gift (otherwise I'd have never gotten him junk food with dyes). Please keep in mind that any of these treats could be substituted. For example, nut packages and a large bar of Lillie's chocolate or something could be used instead.

To make this, you will need:
-Small packages of candy/treats
-A large, pretty treat such as a candy bar, homemade lollipop, homemade bread. a large cookie, etc.
-A small balloon
-Dowel rods or an alternative
-Hot glue and a hot glue gun
-Tulle

Step 1.
Hot glue the candy/treat packaging to the wooden/plastic sticks/rods.

Step 2.
Tie tulle around them all in a bundle and glue where/if necessary. Add in the balloon.

You're done! It's a super easy gift, and perfect for boys in theater who may not want flowers or traditional after-performance-type gifts. Plus, like I said before, this could be changed into a healthier version. I gave my other brother who played Mr. Bucket photos and a balloon in place of candy due to his dietary restrictions. There are lots of substitutes to a bouquet that are easy and quick. You could even do a non-candy bouquet.

I hope this comes in handy and you enjoyed! I look foward to sharing more activities and events with you soon!

Jacob's 18th Musical-Themed Party, Part II

Hello everyone! Today I present part II of Jacob's musical-themed 18th birthday party, which uses the same decor but a different setup, slightly different favors, and shows the posters which I did not photograph at his first party. I made new mugs, but I did musical theater/movie puns I made up: "The Greatest Cocoa" instead of "The Greatest Show", "This Is Tea" instead of "This Is Me", and the bean/green song lyrics from Into the Woods with coffee beans, along with a silhouette (from The Wizard of Oz). The posters are minimalist, and I made up some while I found other ideas online. I will not tell what each symbol represents (I leave that to the viewer, so it's kind of a fun mystery to solve) but here's a hint: they are all from the same musicals as the playbills that comprise the banner. I think I pretty much covered the other details in my previous post, so I will leave the description at that.

I hope that you enjoyed! Thanks for visiting!
