Thanksgiving, 2018

Here's my 2018 Thanksgiving tablescape. It's kind of an odd time to post this, but as I've mentioned before, I'm trying to catch up on the year, so maybe this will come in handy next fall. I also took some food photos for fun of my 'weird' Keto-Vegan meal. The leaves were gathered from outside and I did the calligraphy with a gel ink pen after painting half of each with gold acrylic paint for an elegant, gold-dipped looked. The runner was made with my Dollar Tree wrapping paper. The leaves and branches were from various plants in out yard, such as our Bradford Pear Tree. The candlesticks and dishes were all thrift store finds I had in my stash. I threw it all together the day of, as usual.

I have many more posts on the way this week!

New Year's Party, 2018

This is a weird time to share a New Years party, but I'm trying to catch up on the events that I missed last year while I have time, and so that I can keep up throughout the rest of the year. For New Years 2018, I wanted a fun, colorful theme. I was tired of doing gold, which seems to be in every New Years party, and wanted to do something unique. There isn't much decor becuase it was right after Christmas and during a busy time, and therefore last-minute. The number balloons are from Amazon. The favors were handmade confetti.

I'll share my Father's Day party soon!

Farmer's Market Mother's Day Party

Hello! I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day. For my Mother's Day party this year, I decided to do a Farmer's Market theme since my mother likes to buy local fruits, veggies, and products, and she likes decorating with a farmhouse style. I went with a modern, bright color scheme, mixing black and white with vibrant watercolors. As usual, I found myself painting the banner, creating the canopy and figuring out the decor last-minute, but not all the morning of, for a change. I did most of it the night before (like 11:00 p.m.). I made the canopy by cutting some fabric I had grabbed on sale months before, took two hangers from our laundry room and bent them into a rectangle, and hot-glued it all together. It was flimsy, but served the purpose. I held it up by simply shutting the ends of the hangars in the cabinet doors. The flowers were from our yard. I miraculously managed to bake a successful coffee cake as a breakfast/treat. The recipe was from this link. I had the dishes on hand, but they came from thrift stores and the milk bottles from Michaels.

I hope you like it! I will soon share my Father's Day party from last year, so come again!
