My 2018 Room Tour

Hello! Sorry it has been so long! My schedule has been crazy, and I recently lost one of my closest friends/relatives. I have a lot of costume tutorials to share if I can find time, plus two new parties (one frog-themed, one pizza-themed). Today I'd like to share my bedroom tour of 2018. I had my room decorated like this since New Years, but I wanted to get in 'the fall mood' with candles, blankets and fall colors, so I changed my room a few weeks back. Up until then, my theme was black and white scandinavian, with an emphasis on books. I wanted my room to reflect my personality and favorite things, which I'll elaborate on below. I hope you enjoy:

I love the Wizard of Oz book series, plus I collect music boxes, So I displayed the Wizard of Oz music box, an amazing gift I was given for Christmas, in the center of my room. Beneath it are two of my favorite books. On the opposite side of my dresser, I placed another special (graduation) gift, which was a vintage camera, to reflect my passion for photography and love of antiques. I lined up another special vintage-camera-gift and my very first camera next to it. The bird added a Scandinavian touch, plus it sort-of shows my love for animals. I filled my handmade blanket ladder with succulents. Above it was another precious gift, an illustration from "The Kingdom of Neep," a book by my art teacher, Jan Walker. In the corner was my piano and above it, the finishing touch: a cat, of course. I hope you enjoyed, and maybe found ideas for incorporating your own interests to your interior.

My next post will feature my fall bedroom makeover, so if you enjoyed, visit again soon!

My 18th Chronicles of Narnia Birthday Party

For my 18th birthday I had a Chronicles of Narnia party. Not just "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" party, but a party inspired by the whole series. It was very simply decorated. The color scheme was green, black, white, gold, silver and burgundy. For the meals, we ate soup, bread, salad, and fruit. The next day we ate pancakes, eggs and fruit. No Turkish delight, unfortunately :( For favors, I made twig pencils and notebooks with C. S. Lewis quotes. I also made natural leaf crowns with ribbons as party hats. The leaf garlands were made from magnolia leaves (thank you to the contributor!). It was fun!

I'll be doing some Valentine's Day posts soon!

Will's Down the Rabbit Hole White Rabbit 8th Birthday Party

I made some decor for my brother, who asked for a Lego party. Then, out of the blue, he decided he wanted an Alice's Adventures in Wonderland themed party. I was thrilled to oblige and will be using the other decor for a party tomorrow. I needed it to be boy-ish, so I took his favorite character, the White Rabbit, and made the theme a 'Down the Rabbit Hole' and 'White Rabbit' type of theme.

I hand-frosted this classic, white rabbit cake and we used tall, orange and green sparkler candles. Will was so surprised when they were lit!

I hand-drew these animal masks that were copied from the original illustrations from the classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland book by Lewis Carol (which inspired this party).

For one of the activities I pre-made little illustrations from the book. They colored them and made puppets.

As another favor, I made these rabbit crayons and threw in a few extra things I had on hand. The goodie bags read "Thanks for spending time with the birthday boy!" and were stamped with a pocket-watch stamp.

For Will's birthday dinner we ate this vegetable pasta that goes perfect with the theme.

His birthday breakfast consisted of 'rabbit [donut] holes' and natural, raspberry lemonade.

I'll be posting another party as soon as I have time next week!
