2019 Bedroom Tour

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a quick little room tour. Last year my bedroom was decorated in a Scandanavian-Bohemian style with an astronomy theme. I painted a chalk-baord wall, and although I am happy with it, I suggest not doing one on a bumpy wall and over a bed. It came out really bumpy and the chalk dust falls on my bed. Also, when I'm in bed I accidentally wipe off whatever chalk drawings or writings are on the bottom. Anyway, for decor I drew constellations, used rocks and my salt lamp, and used a calligraphic print of a watercolor I made a few years ago of one of my very favorite quotes: "Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." The woven blanket was a gift from Rahab's ropes. I also used some of my nerdy book-themed decor like music boxes, a Narnia candle, and an Alice display (also gifts) just because. I went for an indigo, purple, black, and white theme overall. I went for a very minimalist look, so there's not much to show. The shelf I found at a thrift store and repainted white with chalk paint. I hope you enjoy:

Louie's Baseball Birthday Party

This party was from way back around the beginning of September. At this point, it can be assumed that if a party occurs during the school semester, it's very last-minute. This party was very small and simple, but would be easy to throw together yourself. The favors were yo-yos with hand-drawn and cut baseballs glued on the fronts, bags with I don't remember what inside, and cracker jacks. I drew the poster with marker, made the banner with paper, string and marker, drew lines on the bags with the same marker, and used red electric tape for the baseball lines on the tablecloth.

Thanks for stopping by! I have more to share soon!

Starwars Fourth of July Party

Hello! Sorry it's been so long! I am thrilled to share a recent Phantom Tollbooth birthday party, as well as a rose-themed birthday party, but first I would like to share this Fourth of July party before I forget to post it. I wanted to do a unique theme for the Fourth of July, but still use traditional, patriotic colors. I'd seen the Starwars pun "May the Fourth be with you" many times, and I was watching the sagas for the first time; so it hit me that that could be the theme! I wanted the party to be vibrant, fun and punny but still patriotic. I drew the poster, colored stars on balloons and threw a banner up from a past party. It's very simple because it was super last-minute, as usual (like the day of), but let's say I was aiming for a clean, minimalist party. Yes, let's go with that. Anyway, here it is:

Thank you for visiting! Come back soon for more party and gift ideas!

2019 Easter Party

For this year's Easter celebration, I chose a pale blue-and-white color palette with wood, lace and other elegant decor accents. I did a simple, modern calligraphy poster and made a small, blue balloon arch. I found some wildflowers from our yard for the centerpiece. I made everything the day of, so there wasn't a whole lot. Also, I didn't take pictures of the food, unfortunately. The napkin holders are super easy to make. I just twisted and cut pipe cleaners into crosses.

I have a magical rainbow-themed girl's birthday party and lots of DIY gifts coming up!

Modern Frog-Themed Birthday Party

Merry Christmas! I'm sorry it's been so long! I have had a lot going on, including an urgent, unplanned trip, so there's a lot to catch up on! For starters, here's a Frog-themed party I made up for my grandmother's birthday in September. She loves frogs. I borrowed some of her decor, made the banner and watercolor frogs, made the balloon arch with green and white balloons, made the watercolor-circles banner, and used my pegboard for the background. I made mini clay frogs as party favors. I also painted a poster to go behind the gift table. The cake was made by my grandparents.

I hope that you liked it and are enjoying a wonderful Christmas! There are lots of DIY gifts and events coming soon!
