Riley's "Peachy at the Beach(y)" 13th Birthday Party

 

Hi, I hope everyone is having a fantastic and blessed summer! This year my cousin gave me very simple criteria for her birthday theme: she liked a peach/coral pink color, and she wanted a beach theme. The trouble was that I have done a lot of beach themes, and wanted to do one in a very different/new way. The result: peaches & beaches, or an "It's peachy at the beachy" party. 

The favors were peach and dye-free parrot gummies from Walmart. I painted the backdrops, banner, and peaches on posters and poster board. The bows and striped tissue on the table came from Michaels (together they were $1). The other dishes and decor were miscellaneous things I had on hand. My grandparents happen to own some tropical looking plants, so they happened to match the theme perfectly. I got some of the branches from their backyard and combined them with artificial plants I had.

Riley's Ocean Dreams Birthday Party, 2025

 Hello, tonight I'd like to share another birthday party from last year, this one for my cousin Riley's 12th birthday. I wanted to do the most grand party I'd ever done, but she asked for something beach-themed, and I struggled to come up with original ideas for it. I ended up doing neutral colors and going for a dreamy, ethereal but natural look that was (unintendedly) simple (and rather last-minute). 

I made the giant seashell from recycled cardboard painted with metallic white acrylic paint. The giant white sign that read "Riley is 12" was a foam posterboard that I cut and wrote on with a marker. I plucked some branches to add to the balloon arch from my grandparent's yard. I cut lines into snickerdoodle cookies from Dollar General to make sand dollars. The sun glasses were from Dollar General or Walmart, and I honestly forget what the other favors were. I had all of the rest of the decorations on hand already.

Seaside & Stories Birthday Party Theme

 Hello! I'd like to share Seaside & Stories birthday party from three years ago. 

The balloons came from Dollar Tree (I think), and I painted the ocean-themed pictures with watercolors, then used a Sharpie or gel ink pen to add details on top. I did the same for the food labels as well. The treats included "Sea Snails" for cinnamon buns and "Sand Dollars" for Nilla cookies. The poster was made with that same pen and recycled book pages. This theme was actually inspired by a book I found at a thrift store and love, titled "A Child of Books" by Oliver Jeffers. The vases, plants, and dishes were all things I had on hand. For the book page ocean, I hot glued the pages together into the ocean shape onto brown wrapping paper, then attached it with hot glue or staples to the tablecloth. I started by writing quotes about reading onto the brown paper, but that was taking way too long, so there is a random-looking strip with quotes, and that is why. The favors were $0.25 notebooks (bought in packs) from Walmart. I hot glued recycled book pages onto the covers.
