"Fiddler on the Roof" Cast Favors Idea

 Happy Memorial Day! 

I am so thankful to live in a free country and for everyone who sacrificed for our freedom. 

Today's post is really quick, but I would like to share a cast gift my brother and I gave to our Fiddler on the Roof cast members. The violin keychains were bought in bulk on Amazon. I got the golden ribbons at a thrift store a long time ago (two huge spools for around $1) and finally had a use for them. Lastly, I made the tags on Canva, which I planned to add below but I can not find the file anywhere. They read "Thank you for being a key part of this cast. You are instrumental to this show! Break a leg today!" I hope somebody finds this cast gift idea helpful.

Cast Gift idea: Wood-Burned Keychains

 Hey everyone! Here is a quick cast gift idea for theater folks and directors who may want to give their cast a personal, custom but affordable gift. I bought these keychains at Hobby Lobby or Michaels on sale and wanted to do a wood-burned keychain for everyone but I ran out and could not get to Gainesville that week. So the first cast gift idea is to use a wood burner and carve out the characters along with the actors' and actresses' names on such keychains. I like to give each cast member a personal gift, as well. The second gift used Dollar Tree chalkboard tags, chalk taped onto to each so they could be drawn on, and I painted with white acrylic paint a show symbol (for Addams Family I did a snapping hand) and the actor's or actress's name on each. These types of gifts could really apply to any group of people, though.

Beatles-Themed Birthday Party

 

Hello! For my brother's last birthday back in August I threw a Beatles-themed birthday party that was black and white with some pops of primary colors. The décor included vintage cameras I had on hand, a borrowed drum that I taped a printed "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" label to, records I cut from foam and wrote on with a Jelly Roll ink pen, a borrowed guitar, printed Beatles album photo, a borrowed album, and a handwritten poster. I used strawberry candies from Dollar Tree and wrote "Strawberry Fields Forever" above them. I also bought pretzel sticks called 'Pennysticks" and labeled them "Penny Lane Pennysticks". The party hat was made from a printed Beatles picture hot-glued into a cone and attached to an elastic headband.

Jacob's 18th Musical-Themed Party, Part II

Hello everyone! Today I present part II of Jacob's musical-themed 18th birthday party, which uses the same decor but a different setup, slightly different favors, and shows the posters which I did not photograph at his first party. I made new mugs, but I did musical theater/movie puns I made up: "The Greatest Cocoa" instead of "The Greatest Show", "This Is Tea" instead of "This Is Me", and the bean/green song lyrics from Into the Woods with coffee beans, along with a silhouette (from The Wizard of Oz). The posters are minimalist, and I made up some while I found other ideas online. I will not tell what each symbol represents (I leave that to the viewer, so it's kind of a fun mystery to solve) but here's a hint: they are all from the same musicals as the playbills that comprise the banner. I think I pretty much covered the other details in my previous post, so I will leave the description at that.
