For Jacob's 20th birthday party theme, he requested a Journey band theme, so I tried to do what I could with the limited knowledge I had about them. I went for what I perceived to be a 'Rockstar' color palette: red, black, and metallic colors (mainly silver). I drew the poster using one of the album covers as inspiration. My grandparents made the cake. I hung up blankets and used Wii instruments from a Beatles game as photo props. I found free printable Rockstar glasses I found online along with sunglasses on hand, too. The discs and star were from thrift stores. The silver photo backdrop I layered over tablecloths was actually at a thrift store brand new for $0.50. I printed the 'poster' from Google. Th cake stand was a wire basket and plastic plate put together. For the party favors, I bought bell-shaped chocolates at Dollar Tree (as well as real bells for those who could not eat the candy) and created the free printable labels below that say: "'Don't stop bell-lieving...' Thank you for making Jacob's party rock!'" Of course, I removed the name so that anybody could use them should they do a similar party theme.
I hope this serves as some sort of inspiration for other Journey fans out there (or musician-type parties in general). Thank you for stopping by!
