How to Put Together a Party

Here is how to put together a party (in just 6 steps!):

1. Decide on the theme. Think about what the person likes, and his/her hobbies, favorite place, favorite story, favorite foods, favorite colors, and so on. Look on Pinterest for ideas. Maybe the person loves animals. The party could be forest, woods, jungle or zoo animals themed.

2. Decide the color scheme. You don't want a bunch of random colors. Pick around 3-5 colors. You want at least three, but don't over-do it. You might want two neon colors with a pastel or neutral color. Or maybe you want all pastel colors.

3. Make (or buy) invitations. This should be the third thing you do. You need to know the theme and color scheme first, but you need send these out weeks in advance.

4. Make the decorations. Look for ideas and try to get good deals on you're party supplies. I buy my streamers for $0.50 at a local store. You may want a tablecloth or paper backdrop (either for the party set-up or for a photo booth). Look at thrift stores for unique jars and candlesticks to put food in (just hot-glue the jar to the candlestick). Get all that you can for as little as possible.

5, Get or make party favors. Look for or come up with ideas to match your theme. If you need a party favor for both adults and kids, get notebooks or candy. Use you're imagination and make sure it goes with the theme!

6. Food. It's a big part of the party. The food you serve depends on your guests. Some might have allergies or diets or be vegetarian (like me). And you want it all to match your party. Bright red cupcakes are not going to go well at a pale pastel-colored party. Remember, the food you serve are edible decorations. They need to taste and look good. I find sixlets good for putting in jars. They are little balls of chocolate that look and taste good.

These are pretty much all the steps to put together a basic party. Figure out the theme and colors, invite the guests, work on decor, make or buy party favors, then make or buy the food. Speaking of parties, I think I'm going to do an Easter party, so be sure to look for it after Easter!
