Memorial Day/ Fourth of July Party Wands

It's Memorial Day weekend! I came up with these recycled Memorial Day wands in honor of the occasion.

Here's how I made them:
I used a recycled red cardboard box, the covers of a recycled calander/planner notebook, some pretty straws, yarn and hot glue (with a hot glue gun, of course.)

1. Cut the cardboard and notebook covers (or whatever you're using) into the shapes of stars. The red cardboard stars need to be smaller than the blue ones.

2. Wrap the yarn tightly around half of the straw and glue the top and bottom of the string onto the straw with hot glue.

3. Gather several long strings of yarn, tie them together at one end, and cut the other end till they are all even.

4. Hot glue the strings to the top of the straw

5, Hot glue the star (/two stars glued together) to the front of the straw.

Done! Happy Memorial Day!
