My Handmade Christmas Gifts

Merry (belated) Christmas! You could tell it was almost Christmas in my bedroom. Scissors, paper, material, thread, glue, needles, pencils, markers, knife, books, wood, wrapping paper......ect. This picture was just when the mess began. I was busy. In fact, I completed around 30 handmade gifts by Christmas, not to mention the late ones I need to give and send out.

It's a little late for this, but this list might come in handy next Christmas, or even for other holidays, so here is a list of handmade gifts:
1. For my baby cousin, who is one, I made a sock monkey and Numbers and Play-dough Kit.
(For my sock monkey, I hot-glued the flowers and eyes, though the rest is sewed.)

2. My cousin loves gymnastics, dance and things like that, so I made her a wire sculpture of a girl doing a walk-over or front hand-spring. She likes statement necklaces, so I made her the one below out of Polymer clay, a necklace chain and wire.

3. One of my brothers asked for Elf on the Shelf action figures, so I made some out of Polymer clay. As you can see, one tipped over in the packaging. I made him a stuffed Kermit, (he likes the Muppets right now), and got him two books that looked like new at the thrift store.

4. One of the gifts I gave my other brother was a Kaleidoscope Kit I made. Click here to see how to make a kaleidoscope. For the prism I cut up a disc.

5. For one of my friends, I colored a mug (she has a mug obsession), and filled it with craft supplies, and made an ipod stand that echos the sound out of a hollow box. There's no tutorial for the stand. To keep a Sharpie drawing or writing on a dish, you need to use an oil-based Sharpie place it in the oven first. Then turn the oven on to 350 degrees, letting the cup warm with the oven. After it reaches the temperature, wait 30 min. After that, turn off the oven and crack open the oven door. Do not remove the cup until the oven is completely cool.

6. For one of their gifts, I made both my uncle and pe'p'e (Grandpa)I probably misspelled it) handmade lottery tickets. They each got four, but only one of the four was a winner. When they went to me to cash them in, I wide-eyed and solemnly told them that they had the big winner, and that they won a million dollars. I used card-stock, drew with a pen, colored over the pen thickly with white crayon, then painted green acrylic paint over the crayon. Like I mentioned below, the chocolate is from Dollar Tree. I got my uncle a mug also.

7. One of my grandmas asked for a million dollars. So, that's exactly what I got her. Unfortunately, I spent a lot of money on this candy before I found chocolate million dollar bills at Dollar Tree. But she thought it was funny. She also has always had a small frog obsession, so I drew her the framed picture below.

8. For my other grandma, I made her a book planter. She loves to read, and likes gardening, so it seemed like a perfect gift. The paper at the bottom is removable.

9. For my dad, I made golf pens, a secret storage book, and a remote holder (he hates when the remote's missing). I didn't follow the tutorial the link above leads to though. I just hand-sewed it. I didn't measure or add the quilting wadding.

10. For my mom, I made a pillow that was hand-sewn and hand-painted, three paintings I copied from pinterest, sugar scrub, and promised some family Christmas photo collages (the photos were taken by me). The pillow is shown below.

11. For my  great-Pe'pe', I made a bird wall decoration, key-chain, and statue thing. They were all made out of random tools, washers, forks and things because he works with tools and fixes things. The middle of the bird is actually a recycled sanitizer bottle and the feet are a thread spool. I made the rusty look with gold metallic paint mixed with dark brown (acrylic) paint, and dabbed on.

12. For my aunt I made sugar scrub, a personalized wire necklace, and some nail polish for her 'mistle toes'.

I will edit and add one or two more things to this post, but this is just about my whole list! My sixteenth birthday is in the middle of Janury, and I will post about the party. Thanks for viewing!
